Casinos Considering Free Lessons to Keep
Gamblers Coming Back
The Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas touched upon a number of issues this
year. In regards to getting players (especially younger ones) to return to
Las Vegas, Gaming International Inc. brought up that casinos are not doing as
much as they can to help instruct inexperienced players at the table games.
Although most of the best casinos in town offer free classes, they are
usually at inconvenient hours on weekdays - the times in which the younger crowd
is nowhere near the casinos. And as far as the dealers go, they are not in
a position to give a full-out lesson while other seasoned players are waiting to
bet their chips. And of those dealers that could help out an inexperienced
player at a quiet table, they are usually not the best teachers in the casino.
The solution to this, according to Gaming International President, Ted
Gottlieb, is simple - Offer more free classes at more convenient times, and hire
or train more dealers who are apt at teaching casino games. Overall,
Gottlieb thinks that it would be in the casinos best interest to exhibit an air
of friendliness, and a more open outreach to help players.
Much of this concern has stemmed from the fact that more younger people are
coming to visit Las Vegas casinos for the first time - largely due to the
popularity that the televised World Poker Tour, online poker, and online casinos
are having with college-age adults. However, due to an unfamiliarity with
many of the casino games offered, or losing money on games they do not how to
play, this crowd is not returning back to the casinos. Hopefully, new
tactics will be employed to keep these players coming back, which any Las Vegas
casino could not complain about.
