Motown Legends Online Casino Could Operate From U.S.
U.S. online gambling and casino entrepreneurs are getting bolder by the day,
for it looks as if no matter now much the government says internet betting is
illegal, gaming operators and players are going to do it anyways. One of
the more recent, bold maneuvers comes from an unlikely source, albeit one that
has much potential for getting it done.
A small group of Motown musicians, including members of The Four Tops and The
Miracles are putting their finances together in order to back an online casinos
that is already in the developmental stage. Called the Motown Legends
Online Casino, it is scheduled for live release in February of 2006, and is
being backed by some folks who could very well make it happen.
Herb Strather is a successful Illinois businessman who has been instrumental
in bringing three casinos to Detroit, as well as introducing legislation into
state law that is helping to bring about a more tolerable respect for gambling.
Strather is also playing a major role in helping to develop Mowtown Legends
Casino. He was able to get the the Atlantis Internet Group to create the
software that will be operated on the online casino. Atlantis already is in the
business of developing wireless gambling technology - and is permitted to do so
under certain state laws.
This is where Strather and his Motown investors may encounter some
roadblocks. The U.S. government has declared online casino gambling
illegal; However, online gambling has gotten so large and the government
has gotten so slack about it that there is a good chance the online casino could
go under the radar - especially if it is well thought out and does not blatantly
break any laws. One such strategy is that the casino will not take bets from
U.S. players. However, if the lack of enforcement by the government is due
to preoccupation with more pressing matters, the casino could have an uphill
road.
