Aussie Casinos Propose to Offer Poker for
First Time
Everyone knows how popular online poker has become. And if you have
ever been to Las Vegas, you would know how popular it is there as well.
The game definitely has a worldwide following, which has grown almost
exponentially in recent years. Due to highly publicized poker tournaments
on television, such as the World Series of Poker Tour, gamblers and even
first-time gamblers are having their stake at poker.'
One such place, where poker is growing from essentially nothing is Australia.
Again, thanks to massive publicity surrounding the recent World Series of Poker
final, in which an Australian took home the grand prize of over $10 million,
poker is beginning to have a substantial following in the land down under.
Two very large casinos in Australia, Jupiters and Treasury Casino, announced
they will be offering poker on their casino floor very soon. Jupiters and
Treasury Casino reported they are awaiting a mandatory approval notice from the
Office of Gaming to begin setting up poker tables, which both casinos plan to
offer on a nightly basis.
The turnout is not expected to surpass any of the casinos other popular game,
however poker has an expanding following in Australia, which guarantees it will
bring in substantial gambling action to make it worth the casinos time.
After all, Crown Casino in Melbourne has offered poker for some time now, and
has continuously pulled in large crowds.
Both Jupiters and Treasury plan to have their own poker rooms up and running
within a couple of months - just as soon as the approval from the Office of
Gaming assuredly goes through.
