NBA Head Coaches Get Futures Bet for Upcoming
Season
A hot futures wager in sports betting circles right now is one regarding the
upcoming NBA season. At the forefront and drawing much attention are two
of the league's best coaches - Phil Jackson and Larry Brown. Jackson, who
will be leading the Lakers in L.A., has Kobe Bryant as his go-to man, which many
are saying is the only reason why the Lakers might have any chance of winning
the title this year. The Western Conference is very competitive, loaded
with several big-time players, and will pose an even greater challenge for
Jackson than Brown, who will be leading the Knicks in New York.
The Eastern Conference has not been near as strong as the Western Conference
for several years now, which, in regards to a league champion, will have more of
an impact during the finals than in the regular season. However, the bet
that a few sportsbooks like WagerWeb are taking right now is which coach,
Jackson or Brown, will have a better winning record and season. At this
point, it is very hard to tell, since both teams have somewhat seemingly
lackluster rosters, but are being coached by the greatest in the game.
Right now, the bet is pretty much going 50:50 for Jackson and Brown. Of
course, there are other bets available, such as whether the Knicks or Lakers
will even make the playoffs (which both teams did not do last year). But
right now, the head-to-head between Brown and Jackson is the big one, and could
really go one way or the other. When preseason starts up, the odds will
definitely shift, although this may be a good time to get a better idea how each
teams future really looks.
