Online Casinos Beginning to Conform to eCOGRA's New Standard

eCOGRA, which is one of the internet's leading authorities on fair gaming and the prevention of underage and problem gambling, recently created a new set of standards, which are more comprehensive and stringent than the previous regulations.  Prompted in large part due to the passing of the UK Gaming Bill, the new standards are chiefly aimed at online casinos who wish to operate their servers in the UK.  However, in order for any online casino (whether it be based in Kahnawake or Antigua) to receive eCOGRA's Seal of Approval, they must meet the new standards.

One of the first gambling groups to conform to the new standards is the Jackpot Factory Group, which operates four online casinos and a single poker room.  Using Microgaming Software, Jackpot Factory has hitherto been a staunch supporter of fair and sophisticated internet gaming.  Now, according to the new standards, information and advice on how to prevent and recognize problem gambling will be available on all Jackpot Factory's casino websites.  Additionally, there will be a link to one of the most authoritative tests on diagnosing problem gamblers.  Developed by the University of Chicago, the test is universally used by psychologists and gambling professionals.

Both CEO's of the Jackpot Factory Group and eCOGRA made public announcements regarding the new standards, and JFG's conformity to them.  JFG stated that all of its casino managers and employees have been thoroughly trained according to the new regulations, which includes training on recognizing the signs and behavior of problem gamblers, as well as recognizing questionable identifications and underage gamblers.  eCOGRA has been very pleased with JFG's implementation of the new regulations, especially the training of casino staff and support personnel.  No single manager can keep up with every player that opens an account with one of the many casinos JFG operates.  It is up to the support team to catch the signs from the beginning, and report them to their immediate supervisors.
