Jet Set Poker
REVIEW
|
Overview
|
Jet Set Poker is a new site that opened
late last year. They cater to tournament players and have
developed a strong following of players. Earlier this year
Mike Caro joined as well and there has been a steady growth in
players. They seem to be very well ran and they treat players
well and adding Mike Caro has only further cemented them as
one of the new poker rooms that is here to stay.
If a new player asked what site to start at
to learn to play I'd tell them to start here. Jet Set Poker is
one of the more friendly poker rooms around. There is a lot of
talk at the tables and it is mainly good natured. Most of
their players seem pretty new to the game for the most part
but they are improving as the poker room grows. They also
offer a lot of low limit buy-in tournaments which are ideal
for new players. |
|
Tournaments
|
They are a very solid tournament site with
a good number of players and top quality tournament software.
One of the most unique things they have is "head hunter"
tournaments. Every player in the tournament has a bounty and
every time you take someone out of the tournament, you get the
bounty of their head. They also have a good selection of
Holdem, Omaha and 7 Card Stud tournaments. The only draw back
is that the tournaments tend to be low so if you want to play
big money tournaments it may not be for you. |
|
Money Tables
|
The number of players have been growing but there still
isn't too many players on their money tables. They do have a
decent ammount of play on the micro limit tables, where they
have a few tables of no limit and pot limit holdem going
that are from $0.01/0.02 to $0.05/010.
|
|
Software
|
The software is top rate. It is quite smooth, I haven't seen
any glitches and everything is well done. The server has
also been very stable, with few down times or disconnects.
Both of these things are especially important for tournament
play and they have done a good job with everything.

Multi-Table
Tournaments - Jet Set Poker is mainly a tournament
site and therefore they cater to tournament players. They offer a
large number of tournaments every day from point tournaments (free)
to around $20 buy-ins. They also offer a good variety of Holdem,
Omaha and even a few 7 Card Stud tournaments. As long as you aren't
looking for big money tournaments (over $30) they are a very good
choice.
Sit and Go Tournaments
- There aren't as many players in the sit and gos yet. Most of them
are $5+0.50 and $2.50+0.25 buy-ins. |
